Gvaneta is celebrated for her beautiful classical guitar tone and her acclaimed interpretation of Barrios Mangoré’s masterpiece Choro da Saudade, which has reached close to one million views on YouTube.

About

Gvantsa (Gvaneta) Betaneli is a Georgian-German classical guitarist and laureate of numerous national and international competitions. Surrounded by music from early childhood, she discovered her passion for the guitar at the age of three and soon began performing on stage as a solo artist.
At the age of thirteen, she successfully auditioned and became a soloist of the State Philharmonic of Georgia, performing extensively across the country.

 

She studied at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire (Georgia) and at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (Germany), where she completed her degrees (Bachelor’s and Master’s in Tbilisi, as well as Master’s degree and Artistic Diploma in Frankfurt) with top marks. During her study she was supported by the Presidential Scholarship of Georgia and a prestigious scholarship for talented musicians performers from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

In 2018, Betaneli won an audition in Frankfurt am Main (Gremany) and was awarded another prestigious scholarship from the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now e.V. foundation. As a scholarship holder of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now, she has performed in numerous cities across Germany (Rein-Main district). 

 

Gvaneta has received awards at numerous national and international competitions held in Croatia, Belarus, Germany, Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Armenia, and other countries.

Her international concert career has taken her to many European countries as well as Costa Rica.

 

In addition to her solo career, she is regularly invited to serve as a jury member at competitions, including “Jugend musiziert“ (Germany); International Music competition Art-Dominanta (Ukraine) and others. 

 

Since 2013, Gvaneta has been teaching at Frankfurt Music School (Musikschule Frankfurt am Main e.V.), where her students regularly achieve success in competitions and playing concerts. 

 

She works in collaboration with the internationally renowned guitar salon Siccas Guitars (Karlsruhe, Germany), where she records video sessions. In 2023, she also collaborated with Altamira Guitars for their “Altamira Home Concert” series. In December 2025, Betaneli was invited to participate in the VI Francisco Tárrega International Congress (Spain). 

 

Gvaneta maintains a remarkable presence on social media, where she has built a large and highly engaged international community. Her videos across Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok have amassed millions of views, reflecting the wide global reach of her artistry. With a substantial and growing following across these platforms, she continues to connect with audiences worldwide, bringing classical guitar to a new generation of listeners.

Alongside her musical career, for Gvaneta, human rights and freedom of choice are fundamental values. She is actively engaged in public and community work. Since 2024, she has served as Deputy Chair of the Works Council (Stellvertretende Vorsitzende) at Music School Frankfurt (Musikschule Frankfurt am Main e.V.). In March 2026, she became Chair of the Works Council (Betriebsratsvorsitzende), continuing her commitment to advocacy and institutional responsibility. 

Betaneli serves also since 2022 as Chair of the Administrative Advisory Board (Vorsitzende des Verwaltungsbeirats), contributing to governance and oversight in property management.
